AUGUST DATES FOR NEVADA TO BE DETERMINED

Kids will be involved in all aspects of farm operations to include livestock management with chickens, Beans the ewe, Rudy the calf, Tommy the donkey, the horses, and whatever other livestock find their way to the farm. Planting, maintaining, and harvesting a huge garden; building – we are always building something; Hay – stacking, feeding, which hay to feed; feeds and feeding (there is a science to proper feeding of livestock); and more.  Always more!

Working with horses is a big deal and it all starts with ground work. In these camps kids will also be working with horses (non-riding). Knowing how your horse thinks and why he does what he does is a part of the learning process as kids communicate and partner with the horse! Kids will learn the basics of ground work which includes grooming, care, handling, and building a trusting relationship with your horse. And this all leads up to games with horses in a safe and fun format.

By weeks end kids will have hands-on experience in what it takes to run a farm, manage livestock, and work with horses!

Leadership Skills and Life Skills are a part of the learning process and kids grow in leaps and bounds while having FUN!

Confidence, self-esteem, teamwork, responsibility, work ethic, problem solving, initiative, cooperation are just a few of the by-products of this LEARN BY DOING camp.

Wild Willy’s Horsemanship  Programs are safe, fun, educational programs designed specifically for kids as they learn all about horses both on the ground and under saddle! The learning begins the moment they walk through the front gate and head to the barn. Whether beginner or advanced there is always room to grow and learn.

Kids participate in all aspects of horsemanship with hands-on learning to  include grooming, tacking, leading, handling, gathering, and riding. It’s an “inside job” so to speak as leadership skills and life skills play an important part of the learning process. Kids learn about themselves as they learn about horses, offering a holistic approach to horsemanship.

Kids ages 6 and up can attend horse programs which are offered year-round.

Contact KIM for further information on how to register your child.
